Make soggy food crispy

Honestly, this is without a doubt my favorite thing I've found that my air fryer can do - turn the soft, mediocre croissants at the grocery store into crunchy ones! If you love croissants as much as I do, you should probably get an air fryer just for this trick.

You can add egg wash (or not), and it's great without, but I think adding egg wash adds a nice golden effect and looks a little richer. Bake in an air fryer at 370 degrees for 4 minutes, until golden brown! The difference is so crazy. Fine bakery croissants every single day!

Another great use is to crisp up soggy leftover fries! No need to throw them away, you can have crispy leftover fries again the next day! I used to refry my fries in oil on a pan but that took a while and was a bit of a pain, this is much easier.

Making the chips

When we first got our air fryer, the thing I was most obsessed with making was definitely tortilla chips. All you have to do is chop up a corn tortilla (I only use flour for this), mix it with oil, salt, cumin, and garlic powder - bake at 350 degrees for 6-8 minutes, and you've got crispy, flavorful chips! I actually thought they tasted great, but Arlo always asks for guacamole.

We also made pita chips - the same way as tortilla chips! Mix with salt, pepper, oregano and any other spices you want.

Many people also suggest making tortilla chips with cinnamon and sugar to make a sweeter version.

Reheating Leftovers

Chinese food! Pizza! Thai! Anything !!!!We put all of our leftovers in the air fryer and they were delicious.

Boiled Eggs.

Who wants to boil water when you can do it in an air fryer?!!!? Yes, that's right. You can do a soft boil, you can do a hard boil - all you have to do is preheat, which I do at 270 degrees, and add my cold eggs (inserted with a rack).

Once cooking was complete, it was cooled in an ice bath for 10 minutes and then peeled! So cool it down.

Making sandwiches and empanadas

Remember when those panini presses were popular? You don't need it now because when I make grilled cheese sandwiches in the air fryer, it's perfect. Every inch is golden!

Frying bread cubes/crostinis

I used to fry bread cubes in a pan, but this is easier because I don't need to turn them and they come out really crispy. Just cut up some bread, toss in oil, and cook for a few minutes until golden brown (these were cooked at 370 degrees for 6 minutes)

For the crostini, I coated the bread with oil and it cooked very evenly!

Bake in small batches

If your air fryer is just a simple toaster oven, think of it as an oven! You can bake small batches in your air fryer without having to preheat your entire oven. When we have cookie dough, I'll bake two cookies at a time here, which takes 10 minutes!

making bagels

back in the early days of stay at home, we tried making legit bagels– so we tried greek yogurt air fryer bagels instead and not only were they easy enough to make with a toddler, they were good too!!!

crispiest skin chicken ever

one of my favorite things to make in the air fryer– chicken thighs!! add oil and spices of your choice to both sides of the chicken while it’s preheating at 400. cook skin side up for about 18 minutes and it comes out soooo crispy and perfect!!!
